This page focuses on the project “Effective Impact Consulting” and my personal motivation. You can find my work experiences on LinkedIn and check out my approach how I work with my clients here.

About me and my personal motivation to create impact as a freelance consultant

I want to enable a successful start and scale-up of new impactful projects like during my work as COO at the food start-up JOKOLADE, but for more than just one project at a time. Simply because there is so much that needs to be changed for the better.

The idea

The idea to start freelance consulting also derived from my personal purpose to “maximize my personal impact to make the world step by step a better and happier place”. The following 3 ways describe how I can create more impact:

  1. Help building new start-ups or other projects such that new ideas are tested quicker and have higher chances of success.

  2. Give existing organizations the possibility to focus more on their daily business and impact creation by optimizing their operations.

  3. Maximize the impact of existing organizations by analyzing and identifying potentially effective impact levers.

I also added my purpose in the Golden Circle framework at the end of this page to share the summary of my internal evaluation.

The motivation

My underlying motivation was and still is my objective to maximize my personal impact and use my strengths in one of the best ways possible to make our world a better place to live in for anyone. Instead of spending my “work-life” on marginally improving projects and processes with limited positive impact, I’m looking for the organizations and projects, which can create the most effective impacts and are in need of my skills to unlock their potential.

The framework that I’m using to define effective impacts consists of comparing the totally potential scale, additionality, general feasibility, personal fit of the organization and an overall chance of success.

Currently, I’m testing my hypothesis that I can create more impact by supporting several projects as a freelance consultant than by committing my full work time and energy completely for only one project.

The outlook

My vision is that one day I will be able to use my time and energy as effective as possible for a positive and sustainable impact. This would be the point when I can decide completely impact-prioritized which projects are the best to support and when I am able to do so “pro bono” for non-profit-organizations.

Despite my current mission as freelance consultant, I am always open for the perfect niche where I can use my unique background and skillset best. I hope to have found the right niche for the moment, but I know that there are many things which I do not know yet and there may be an even better opportunity out there.

I believe that we need to work closely together to master the challenges of our modern world and that we can all do more good when we work with our strengths and passions. At the same time, we should not be afraid to consider and execute major changes for a better future, though.

The personal touch

Although I’m analyzing with facts & figures and rationally building and optimizing structures and processes, I’m sometimes adding a personal touch to my projects based on my experiences.
